<![CDATA[Ilmu Qiraat is one of the branches of ‘Ulum al-Qur’an (Qur’anic sciences), making it one of the most important disciplines for understanding the Qur’an. Within ‘Ulum al-Qur’an, there are various interpretations regarding Sab‘atu Ahruf (the seven modes of revelation/recitation), one of which is Qira’at Sab‘ah, which has developed significantly to this day. Initially, relatively few people were familiar with these differences in Qur’anic recitation. However, the study of Qiraat has continued to develop and has expanded into Qira’ah ‘Ashrah (the ten canonical readings). Qira’at Sab‘ah consists of seven imams, each of whom has different transmitters (rawi). These seven imams have various recitation patterns, particularly in the pronunciation of certain letters and words that may be considered difficult to articulate. In Indonesia, however, Qur’anic recitation generally follows the narration (riwayah) of Imam Hafs, one of the transmitters of Imam ‘Asim. The differences in recitation arise because each rawi has a different chain of transmission, although the chains ultimately converge with a Companion of the Prophet or a Successor (Tabi‘in). The purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of the differences in Qur’anic recitation among the various Qiraat imams. This is intended to deepen knowledge of Qur’anic recitation and foster appreciation for the diversity of recitation traditions. This study employs a library research method by collecting relevant data related to the topic and subsequently analyzing the differences in recitation found in each verse of Surah Al-Baqarah. Through this research, it is expected that readers will find it easier to recite Surah Al-Baqarah according to other canonical transmission traditions and understand the differences among them.]]>
