<![CDATA[Social media has become one of the main communication spaces for adolescents and has influenced the patterns of Indonesian language use in their daily lives. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media on Indonesian language use among adolescents and to identify its positive and negative impacts. This study employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were obtained through a search of relevant literature using Google Scholar with the keywords “social media influence,” “Indonesian language,” “adolescents,” “slang,” and “language use on social media.” The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through data reduction, thematic categorization, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that social media is associated with changes in patterns of Indonesian language use among adolescents. The main findings include the widespread use of slang, code-switching, and the emergence of new vocabulary and expressions as forms of linguistic creativity. On the other hand, the use of formal language in digital communication tends to be more limited due to the informal nature of social media interactions. Thus, social media has a complex influence because it can serve as a means of enriching vocabulary and promoting linguistic creativity while also creating challenges in maintaining appropriate Indonesian language use in formal contexts. Therefore, Indonesian language education and digital literacy need to be strengthened to help adolescents adjust their language use to different communication contexts while maintaining linguistic creativity in digital spaces.]]>
