Abstract

All life is based on education as the most fundamental science. The low critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes of students are caused by conventional learning models. To address this, the POE (Predict Observation Explanation) learning model integrated with Algodoo simulation media was implemented to improve critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the effect of the POE (Predict Observation Explanation) learning model with Algodoo media on critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes of students at SMAN 1 Rogojampi. The method used is a real experiment with a quantitative approach. The sample was selected using a cluster random sampling method from the 11th grade population. Data were collected through a post-test of critical thinking skills and learning outcomes, then analyzed with an Independent Sample t-test in IBM SPSS 26. The results obtained are a statistical test significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) for both variables, so the null hypothesis is rejected. The conclusion of this study proves that the POE (Predict Observe Explain) learning model with Algodoo media has a significant influence in improving critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes of high school students.
