Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of using Flashcard media on early reading skills in Indonesian language subjects for first-grade students at SD Negeri Joglo in the 2025/2026 academic year. Method: The research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method through a Nonequivalent Control Group Design involving 55 students, consisting of 27 students in the experimental class and 28 students in the control class. Data were collected through pretests and posttests, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, Independent Samples t-test, and N-Gain test. Results: The study showed that the average score of the experimental class increased from 71.89 to 91.15, while the control class increased from 66.82 to 79.14. The hypothesis test results showed a significance value of less than 0.05, while the N-Gain test showed that the experimental class achieved a score of 76.12% (effective category) and the control class 36.75% (ineffective category). Novelty: This research focuses on using N-Gain analysis combined with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design to test the effectiveness of Flashcard media on first-grade students at SD Negeri Joglo.
