Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effect of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on developing fifth-grade students’ critical thinking skills in plane geometry at SD Negeri Sabranglor during the 2025/2026 academic year. The study was motivated by the need to implement learning models that enhance student engagement and foster critical thinking skills in mathematics learning. This research employed a quantitative approach using a Pre-Experimental Design method. The sample consisted of 27 students selected through probability sampling using the simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through six essay questions administered before and after the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to determine the differences between pretest and posttest results. The analysis revealed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.047, which was lower than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between students’ scores before and after the treatment. These findings demonstrate that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model has a significant effect on developing students’ critical thinking skills in plane geometry. Therefore, the Jigsaw model is recommended as an alternative mathematics teaching strategy in elementary schools to improve students’ critical thinking skills.
