<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effect of using folk tale video media on the summary writing ability of fourth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 186 Inpres Bontoa. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method using a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were 31 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through summary writing tests administered before and after the implementation of folk tale video media. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, N-Gain analysis, normality testing, and the Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed that the average score of students' summary writing ability increased from 57.7742 in the pretest to 79.0968 in the posttest, representing an increase of 21.3226 points. The average N-Gain score was 0.5526, which was categorized as moderate. Furthermore, the Paired Sample t-Test resulted in a t-value of -18.765 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These results indicate a significant difference in students' summary writing ability before and after the use of folk tale video media. Therefore, the use of folk tale video media has a significant effect on the summary writing ability of fourth-grade students. Folk tale video media can be used as an alternative learning medium in Indonesian language instruction to support students in understanding story content and expressing important information in the form of summaries.]]>
