Background: The increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity among adolescents has become a health problem influenced by various factors, one of which is the role of peers. During adolescence, individuals tend to spend more time with their peers, which can influence eating habits through both positive support and social pressure. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between peer roles and eating patterns among overweight and obese adolescents at SMP Negeri 1 Bulukumba. This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 39 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments were a peer-role questionnaire and an eating-pattern questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results: The results showed a significant relationship between peer roles and eating patterns among overweight and obese adolescents, with p = 0.000 < 0.05. Conclusion: Peer roles are associated with eating patterns among overweight and obese adolescents. Peers who provide positive influence can encourage healthier eating habits, whereas negative influence can increase the risk of unhealthy eating patterns. Therefore, health-promotion efforts involving peer environments are needed to support healthy eating behaviors among adolescents. Continue using AI Cursor?Keep it onTurn Off
