<![CDATA[This study examined the correlation between smartphone use and Islamic Religious Education learning outcomes among Grade XI students at SMK Negeri 1 Palembayan, Agam Regency. A quantitative correlational design was used. All 94 Grade XI students participated through total sampling. Smartphone-use data were collected through a four-point Likert questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, while PAI learning outcomes were obtained from students’ documented scores. The data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, a linearity test, Pearson Product Moment correlation, and simple linear regression with SPSS 27. The findings show that smartphone use had a positive and significant relationship with PAI learning outcomes. The significance value was 0.038, which was lower than 0.05, and the regression equation was Y = 72.315 + 0.127X. The average smartphone-use score was 63.71, while the average PAI learning outcome was 80.21 and categorized as good. These results indicate that smartphones do not automatically harm learning. Their effect depends on the purpose, manner, and supervision of use. Smartphones can help students search for learning materials, access digital Qur’anic resources, watch instructional videos, and complete assignments. However, excessive entertainment use may still disturb concentration. This study highlights the importance of cooperation among schools, teachers, parents, and students in directing smartphone use toward meaningful PAI learning. Future studies are encouraged to include motivation, interest, learning habits, and family environment as additional variables.]]>
