Edamame (Glycine max (L.) Merill) is a plant that is widely cultivated as a vegetable. The use of peat soil as a planting medium has various obstacles such as low nutrient availability, high cation exchange capacity, low alkaline saturation, and low soil pH. Efforts that can be made are the provision of ameliorant in the form of red mud and the addition of rhizobium bacteria. This study aims to obtain the proper dose of red mud and rhizobium interaction for the growth and yield of edamame plants in peat soils. This study uses an experimental method with a Complete Random Design (CRD) pattern consisting of the first factor is red mud (R) consists of 4 levels, namely r0 = dolomite lime (control) 32.2 g/plant, r1 = 10 tons/ha equivalent to 78.1 g/plant, r2 = 15 tons/ha equivalent to 117.1 g/plant, and r3 = 20 tons/ha equivalent to 156.2 g/plant. The second factor is rhizobium (B) consists of 2 levels, namely b0= without rhizobium and b1= with rhizobium. Thus 8 treatment combinations were obtained and repeated 3 times. Each experimental unit has 4 plant samples, making a total of 96 plants. Based on the results of the study, there was no interaction between the granting of red mud and rhizobium on all observed variables. A dose of red mud of 15 tons/ha is an effective dose to produce the amount of pod and the amount of root nodules, while treatment with rhizobium can increase the amount of root nodules by 30.46%.
