<![CDATA[The use of existing buildings as tsunami Temporary Evacuation Sites (TESs) requires structural evaluation that integrates seismic response, tsunami load demands, and structural element capacities. This study aimed to evaluate the structural performance of the Integrated Laboratory Building of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang, under tsunami loads by considering seismic response and the capacities of existing elements. The study employed a quantitative approach with an evaluative design based on numerical modeling using CSI ETABS 18. Research data were obtained from as-built drawings, material specifications, soil data, and tsunami inundation information. The structural analysis referred to SNI 1726:2019, SNI 2847:2019, ASCE/SEI 7-16, and FEMA P-646. The analysis results showed that the Y-direction seismic displacement on the third floor reached 50.105 mm, exceeding the allowable limit of 46.154 mm. The design inundation depth of 7.3 m generated a maximum debris impact force of 1,194.375 kN. The element capacity evaluation showed that several lower-floor columns exceeded the axial force–moment (P–M) interaction curves, the K1a column on the first floor had a shear demand-to-capacity ratio of 1.52, and several beams lacked adequate flexural capacity. These findings indicate that the building does not yet fully satisfy the structural criteria for use as a tsunami TES. Therefore, critical structural elements need to be strengthened before the building is used as a vertical evacuation facility. These results provide a technical basis for prioritizing structural strengthening and making decisions regarding the feasibility of using the existing building as a tsunami TES.]]>
