The rapid development of social media has provided various conveniences in accessing and sharing information. However, it has also given rise to ethical issues such as the spread of misinformation, hate speech, cyberbullying, privacy violations, and backbiting (ghibah). These challenges highlight the importance of implementing Islamic values as ethical guidelines for communication in the digital era. This study aims to analyze social media ethics from the perspective of Qur'anic exegesis (tafsir) and to examine the implementation of Islamic values in the digital age. This research employed a qualitative method using a library research approach with thematic Qur'anic exegesis (tafsir maudhu'i). The primary data consisted of Qur'anic verses related to communication ethics, namely Surah Al-Hujurat verses 6 and 12, Surah Al-Ahzab verse 70, Surah Al-Isra' verse 36, and Surah Al-Humazah verse 1. Secondary data were obtained from Qur'anic commentaries, books, and relevant scientific journals. Data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicate that social media ethics in the perspective of Qur'anic exegesis are founded on the principles of tabayyun (verification), qaulan sadidan (truthful speech), responsibility in disseminating information, protecting human dignity and privacy, and avoiding backbiting, hate speech, and harmful behavior. The implementation of these Islamic values contributes to the development of honest, respectful, and responsible digital communication. Therefore, the ethical values of the Qur'an remain highly relevant as guidelines for the responsible use of social media in the digital era.
