The quality of madrasah education is determined not only by academic achievement but also by the institution’s ability to integrate religious values, character development, and sustainable governance. In this context, madrasah principal leadership plays a strategic role in developing a collaborative and responsive quality assurance system that reflects the distinctive characteristics of Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the reconstruction of the Madrasah Management Team as an innovation in quality leadership at MAN 2 Yogyakarta, particularly through the integration of the Head of the Religious Affairs Unit, whose position is equivalent to that of the vice principals. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation involving the madrasah principal, vice principals for curriculum, student affairs, facilities and infrastructure, public relations, and the Head of the Religious Affairs Unit. Data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification, while data credibility was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the reconstruction of the Madrasah Management Team has fostered a more collaborative and distributed leadership pattern. Integrating the Head of the Religious Affairs Unit into the management team strengthens the strategic position of religious dimensions within the quality assurance system rather than treating them merely as religious program activities. The study concludes that quality leadership innovation can be achieved through reconstructing organizational structures, roles, and working relationships, thereby strengthening a madrasah quality culture that integrates academic, managerial, character, and religious dimensions.
