<![CDATA[Corn tortilla production in Mekar Damai Village, Praya District, Central Lombok Regency, still relies on conventional sun drying, making the process highly dependent on weather conditions and increasing the risk of product contamination. This community service activity aimed to introduce and implement a solar dryer to improve the efficiency and hygiene of the corn tortilla drying process and to enhance the partners’ knowledge and skills in operating the dryer. The activity was conducted on August 14, 2026, through preparation, socialization, training, technology implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. The dryer measured 2.65 m × 1 m and was covered with UV plastic to utilize solar radiation through the greenhouse effect. The drying chamber was equipped with four rack levels, each containing eight trays measuring 40 × 60 cm, providing a total of 32 trays and an effective drying area of 7.68 m². Training was conducted through demonstrations and hands-on practice covering product arrangement on trays, dryer operation, monitoring of drying conditions, and equipment maintenance. Evaluation using pre-test and post-test assessments indicated an improvement in the partners’ knowledge and understanding of drying technology after the training. The implementation of the solar dryer provided a more protected and controlled drying process compared with conventional open sun drying. This technology is expected to support a more efficient, hygienic, and consistent corn tortilla production process and encourage the sustainable adoption of appropriate drying technology by the partner group.]]>
