The development of information technology is unstoppable. This development makes it easier for many people to disseminate information. However, this development also increases the risk of spreading fake news, which can cause legal problems in various segments of society. People often fail to filter information and verify its veracity before disseminating it. As a result, many people become agents of spreading fake news without understanding the legal dangers and the dangers of criminal acts for spreading fake news. Therefore, a community service activity related to hoaxes and their legal consequences was carried out with the aim of increasing legal literacy regarding fake news or hoaxes at Andhika General Hospital, especially among the hospital's employees. The methods used were legal counseling and interactive discussions covering the definition, types, impacts, and legal basis of hoaxes in the ITE Law and the Criminal Code. The results of the activity illustrated an increase in the participants' legal understanding regarding fake news. They were also able to respond to various types of information wisely. This activity is expected to encourage public legal awareness in the use of digital media and wise use of social media.
