<![CDATA[Online lending (peer-to-peer fintech lending) has become part of Indonesia’s rapidly growing digital financial services, yet its ease of access is accompanied by legal and financial risks not fully understood by workers. Licensed online loan disbursements from 2017 through November 2024 reached approximately IDR 978 trillion to more than 137 million recipients, while unlicensed illegal loans continue to circulate through private messages and unofficial links, trapping victims with excessive interest, intimidating collection, and misuse of personal data. This community service activity aimed to improve the legal understanding of Vinilon Building (PT Rusli Vinilon Sakti) workers in Central Jakarta regarding legal protection for online loan users. Conducted on July 11, 2026, by Group 2 students of IBLAM School of Law together with their supervising lecturer, the program used interactive lectures, discussion, case studies, and an evaluative quiz, attended by 39 workers against a target of 30 (130% participation). Materials covered the legal basis for online lending under Law No. 4 of 2023 and OJK Regulation No. 40 of 2024, the characteristics of legal providers, consumer rights and obligations, personal data protection, warning signs of illegal loans, and restructuring strategies for payment difficulties. Evaluation results showed participants could distinguish legal from illegal providers, understand their rights and obligations, and knew official complaint channels. Periodic counseling involving management and HR is recommended.]]>
