This research examines the concept of sustenance (rizq) through Quranic exegesis (tafsir) alongside the lived experiences of congregants at Majelis Nurur Rahmah in Medan Sunggal, North Sumatra, who regularly recite Surah Al-Waqi'ah to attract divine provision. Adopting a qualitative descriptive approach grounded in a Living Qur'an framework, this study conceptualizes the Quran beyond a static text, viewing it as an active spiritual force embedded within communal and religious routines. Data were gathered through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentary analysis with active members of the assembly. Findings reveal that exegetes interpret rizq holistically, encompassing both tangible assets such as wealth and physical wellbeing and intangible blessings, including inner tranquility, wisdom, and eternal salvation. The systematic recitation of Surah Al-Waqi'ah serves as a core spiritual endeavor (ikhtiar), complemented by specific verses associated with abundance. Congregants' perceptions of this practice fall into three primary orientations: (1) a spiritual means to draw nearer to God (mutaqarrib), (2) a psychological anchor fostering emotional stability during financial distress, and (3) a sacred ritual that reinforces the internalization of monotheistic principles (tawhid).
