Complementary feeding (MPASI) refers to food or beverages given to infants after six months of age to meet nutritional needs and support growth and development. Mothers’ knowledge of complementary feeding is an important factor in food selection and feeding practices that may influence the nutritional status of toddlers. This study aims to determine the relationship between mothers’ knowledge of complementary feeding and the nutritional status of toddlers at the Toddler Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) of Sambirejo Public Health Center, Binjai District, Langkat Regency. This study employed a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach and was conducted from June to December 2024. The sample consisted of 45 mothers with toddlers selected using total sampling. Data on mothers’ knowledge were collected through questionnaires, while toddlers’ nutritional status was assessed through anthropometric measurements. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Spearman correlation test. The results showed that 24 mothers (53.3%) had good knowledge, 14 (31.1%) had moderate knowledge, and 7 (15.6%) had poor knowledge. Regarding nutritional status, 23 toddlers (51.1%) had good nutritional status, 14 (31.1%) were undernourished, and 8 (17.8%) were severely undernourished. A significant relationship was found between mothers’ knowledge and toddlers’ nutritional status (p<0.001; r=0.523). Better maternal knowledge was associated with better nutritional status. Complementary feeding education through Posyandu is needed to optimize toddlers’ nutritional status.
