The study aims to study the effect of adsorbent dose and contact time on the efficiency of organic matter and color removal in peat water by the adsorption method, and to calculate the adsorption capacity by oil palm frond adsorbent (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) and determine the adsorption isothermal appropriate to oil palm frond adsorbent (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) by varying the adsorbent dosage and contact time of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 g/L and 45, 60, 75 and 90 minutes, respectively. With a stirring speed of 120 rpm and a particle size of 100 mesh. The results showed that the highest efficiency of organic and color elimination was found at an adsorbent dose of 40 g/L with a contact time of 60 minutes of 98% and 93%, respectively. The adsorption capacity for organic substances was achieved at a dose of 10 g/L with a 90-minute contact time of 22.33 mg/g and the adsorption capacity for the color was achieved at a dose of 10 g/L with a 90-minute contact time of 46.5 mg/g. The isothermal equation of adsorption of the selected organic matter is the Freundlich isothermal and the selected color is the Langmuir isothermal with R2 values of 0.9906 and 0.8009 respectively.
