This study was motivated by the low level of students' understanding of science concepts due to learning activities that had not provided sufficient concrete learning experiences. The study aimed to determine the differences and the effect of the Predict Observe Explain (POE) learning model assisted by the Komigi teaching aid on the science concept understanding of fourth-grade students at SDN Harjosari 02. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a PretestāPosttest Control Group Design. The experimental class was taught using the POE learning model assisted by the Komigi teaching aid, while the control class used the POE learning model without the teaching aid. Data were collected through a science concept understanding test, students' response questionnaires, and classroom observation sheets. The data were analyzed using the normality test, homogeneity test, Independent Samples t-Test, and simple linear regression analysis with SPSS. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The experimental class achieved a mean score of 87.55, while the control class obtained a mean score of 78.43. The regression analysis also indicated a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), demonstrating that the POE learning model assisted by the Komigi teaching aid had a significant effect on students' science concept understanding. Therefore, the POE learning model assisted by the Komigi teaching aid was more effective in improving students' science concept understanding than the POE learning model without the teaching aid.
