<![CDATA[An orphanage is a social institution that functions to provide protection, attention, and guidance for orphans, half-sisters, and underprivileged children. This study aims to (1) Describe the conditions of the orphanage, (2) Describe the values of compassion in the orphanage, and (3) Describe the forms of community roles in realizing the values of compassion. This study applies a descriptive method with a qualitative approach through observation, in-depth questions and answers, and document collection. In analyzing the data, there are three steps, namely data sorting, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that (1) The condition of the orphanage as a home for orphans who need affection and attention so as to help children feel safe, comfortable, and appreciated. (2) The values of compassion in the orphanage consist of the values of caring, the values of mutual assistance and the values of devotion (3) The forms of community roles in realizing the values of compassion are seen from the collaboration of the orphanage and the community, affection through donations and community concern for children. The implications of this research confirm that community support and the application of the value of compassion are very important in shaping the character of orphanage children so that they grow into independent, disciplined individuals who are useful to the environment]]>
