<![CDATA[Background. This community service activity aimed to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Kaizen concept through the 5S method in supporting the modernization of production processes and product standardization at the “Kusumarasa” Taro Chips Producer in Karangtejo Village, Kedu District, Temanggung Regency. The main problems faced by the partner included an unsystematic production area layout, the absence of written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), inconsistent workplace cleanliness, and varying product quality. Method. This activity used an educational outreach program consisting of presentations and question-and-answer sessions. The materials delivered covered the Kaizen concept, the 5S method, production process modernization, and product standardization. Results. The program's effectiveness was evaluated using Pre-Test, Post-Test, and N-Gain Score analyses involving 10 participants, including the business owner and production workers. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding. The average Pre-Test score increased to 64.00 points in the Post-Test, with an average N-Gain score of 1.00 (high category). In addition to improving participants’ knowledge, the program produced several outputs, including simple production SOPs, educational posters on 5S implementation in the workplace, and a more organized, clean, and disciplined work culture aligned with Kaizen principles. Conclusion. Implementing the Kaizen concept through the 5S method successfully improved workplace organization, production area cleanliness, work discipline, and understanding of the importance of process standardization and product quality. Therefore, implementing the Kaizen Framework (5S) was effective for modernizing production processes and standardizing products in small-scale food processing enterprises, while also supporting increased competitiveness and business sustainability.]]>
