This study focused on the development and evaluation of a Wearable Mechanic Creeper Garment for underbody automotive repairs, an innovative tool engineered to enhance comfort, safety, and operational efficiency during under-chassis and low-position maintenance tasks. Integrating the mobility of a traditional rolling creeper with the utility of a mechanic’s work vest, the prototype allows users to maneuver freely while providing crucial ergonomic support during demanding tasks. Utilizing a descriptive-quantitative research design, the prototype was evaluated by sixty (60) automotive students, instructors, and experts at Cebu Technological University – Main Campus. Data gathered through standardized survey questionnaires and performance checklists assessed the garment's comfort, safety, mobility, and overall functional usefulness. The empirical results demonstrated that the wearable mechanic creeper achieved high user acceptability, receiving exceptionally strong ratings for mitigating physical fatigue, improving ergonomics, enhancing under-car mobility, and increasing task efficiency. Participants reported that the garment significantly minimized the physical strain of extended under-chassis operations. Although the evaluation was overwhelmingly positive, respondents noted minor recommendations for future iterations, specifically incorporating additional padding and reinforcing high-stress areas to optimize long-term durability. Overall, the study concludes that the Wearable Mechanic Creeper Garment serves as a highly practical and effective instructional and workshop tool, possessing strong viability for integration into both technical vocational training and commercial automotive industries.
