The gender in Islam generally and in the Qur'an particularly has interested many authors, both muslims and non-muslims. Among them, certain Western authors have concluded that the discourse in the Qur'an is generally masculinized. The goal of this manuscript is to clarify this subject by exploring the figures, both masculine and feminine, revealed in the Qur'an nominatively or implicitly. The principal data on women and men cited in the Qur'an were extracted from the famous books of exegesis and the science of the causes of descent. Some other data were also extracted from other important books. Some websites were used to provide different data or to validate certain information. Both quantitative, descriptive and comparative methodologies are utilised in this study. The emphasis has been on a statistical approach. As a result, in the Qur’an, Allah talks to women directly, sometimes personally, frankly, and glumly. The masculine discourse in the Quran, represented by the term "rijal," is interpreted in Arabic as a neutral gender that includes both men and women.
