<![CDATA[This research is entitled “Legal Analysis of the Responsibility of Local Government in Addressing the Clean Water Crisis in Marisa Village, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.” This study aims to analyze the legal responsibility of the local government in fulfilling the community’s need for clean water and to identify the obstacles faced in addressing the clean water crisis. The results show that the local government has undertaken several efforts, including providing water facilities and infrastructure, developing and utilizing water sources, and distributing water to the community. However, these efforts have not been implemented optimally and have not fully met the community’s needs equitably and sustainably. The main obstacles include limited water resources, geographical conditions, inadequate infrastructure, suboptimal management, and budgetary constraints. From a legal perspective, this condition reflects a gap between the local government’s obligations under applicable laws and regulations and the fulfillment of the community’s right to clean water in practice. Therefore, strengthening local government responsibility is necessary through adequate infrastructure development, sustainable water resource management, equitable service delivery, and regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure that the people of Marisa Village can enjoy their right to clean water fairly and sustainably.]]>
