Introduction: Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation of the synovium, which may cause joint pain, stiffness, swelling, joint damage, and deformity, particularly in the hands, wrists, feet, and knees. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of the Slow Deep Breathing technique combined with lemon aromatherapy on joint pain among patients with rheumatoid arthritis in the working area of UPTD Puskesmas II Negara. Methods: This quantitative study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of 57 respondents selected using convenience sampling. The intervention consisted of the Slow Deep Breathing technique combined with lemon aromatherapy. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: The Wilcoxon signed-rank test showed a significant difference in joint pain before and after the intervention (Z = −7.141; p < 0.001), indicating an effect of the Slow Deep Breathing technique combined with lemon aromatherapy on joint pain among patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Conclusion: The Slow Deep Breathing technique combined with lemon aromatherapy significantly reduced joint pain among patients with rheumatoid arthritis in the working area of UPTD Puskesmas II Negara.
