The Intrauterine Device (IUD) is one of the most effective long-acting reversible contraceptive methods; however, its utilization remains relatively low compared with injectable and oral contraceptives in Indonesia (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2024). Women's interest in choosing IUD contraception is influenced by several factors, including educational level, knowledge about IUDs, and husband's support (BKKBN, 2023). This study aimed to analyze the factors influencing the low interest of mothers in choosing IUD contraception in Ampah II Village. This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 20 respondents selected using total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using univariate analysis and Chi-Square tests with a significance level of α=0.05. The results showed that most respondents were aged 30–39 years (50.0%), were housewives (60.0%), had 1–3 children (70.0%), used injectable contraception (55.0%), had elementary and senior high school education (35.0% each), had poor knowledge (40.0%), and lacked husband's support (55.0%). Chi-Square analysis indicated significant relationships between education and interest in choosing IUD (p=0.005), knowledge and interest in choosing IUD (p=0.000), and husband's support and interest in choosing IUD (p=0.000). The study concludes that education, knowledge, and husband's support significantly influence women's interest in choosing IUD contraception. Strengthening health education and involving husbands in family planning counseling are recommended to increase IUD utilization.
