<![CDATA[The prevalence of blindness reaches 3% and cataracts are the highest contributing factor, affecting 1.7 million people. In Bengkulu Province, 80% of cases occur in the elderly. At the Mitra Mata Main Clinic in Bengkulu City, there were 88 visits for cataracts in 2025. Complementary therapy involving deep breathing is believed to help reduce patient pain. Deep breathing relaxation is abdominal breathing with a slow, rhythmic, and comfortable frequency, done by closing the eyes while inhaling. The purpose of this study is to apply nursing care to post-op cataract patients through the application of Virginia Henderson's theory at the Mitra Mata Main Clinic in Bengkulu City. The research method used in this final nursing thesis is a descriptive case study approach. The instrument used is an observation sheet. This case study involved two respondents with the criteria of being post-cataract surgery patients. The intervention provided was based on SIKI with the addition of deep breathing therapy. The results of the case study showed that patient 1, an 83-year-old woman, and patient 2, a 64-year-old woman, both had a primary nursing diagnosis of acute pain with the nursing intervention for both patients being the provision of deep breathing relaxation therapy. The therapy was administered twice within 24 hours over one day. It was found that the deep breathing relaxation therapy was effective in addressing acute pain in post-operative cataract patients.]]>
