Decision-making and career planning are important aspects of students’ development in preparing for the future in accordance with their interests, talents, and potential. However, many students still experience confusion in determining educational and career choices due to limited self-understanding and insufficient information about the world of work. This study aims to examine the role of the individual counseling approach in helping students make decisions and develop appropriate career plans. This research uses a literature review method by analyzing various relevant scientific sources. The findings indicate that individual counseling can help students recognize their potential, increase self-confidence, understand various career alternatives, and develop the ability to make decisions independently. Through a personal counseling relationship, counselors can provide services that suit each student’s needs so that the career planning process becomes more focused. Thus, the individual counseling approach plays an important role in supporting students’ career readiness and helping them plan their future more effectively.
