Abstract

This article aims to analyze the phenomenon of digital da’wah (Islamic preaching) among university students in the era of rapidly advancing information technology and social media. Digital da’wah has become a transformation in the delivery of Islamic messages, no longer confined to physical spaces, but expanding through various digital platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp, and podcasts. The research method used in this article is a literature review, gathering various references from national scientific journals over the past five years related to digital da’wah, social media, digital literacy, and student behavior. The results indicate that digital da’wah provides students with easy and flexible access to religious knowledge, and is capable of improving religiosity, religious literacy, and student participation in modern da’wah activities. Furthermore, social media opens opportunities for students to become creative and innovative da’wah content creators. However, this phenomenon also poses challenges including the spread of religious hoaxes, digital radicalism, and unverified religious information, necessitating strong digital literacy skills. The novelty of this article lies in its discussion that integrates digital da’wah with students' communication behavior and the influence of digital literacy in the use of religious social media in a more comprehensive and contextual manner, in line with current modern technological developments.
