<![CDATA[This study examines gender equality in education within Indonesian schools, addressing both progress made and persistent challenges. While significant strides have been achieved in increasing female enrollment and reducing gender gaps in basic education, disparities in academic achievement, career guidance, and leadership roles remain evident. The paper critically evaluates the effectiveness of education policies aimed at promoting gender equality, analyzing both the successes and limitations of these initiatives. Based on an analysis of school-level data and interviews with students, teachers, and policymakers, the study identifies key areas where gender-based inequalities persist, such as in subject choice, career counseling, and leadership opportunities. The paper concludes with recommendations for reforming policies to better address these disparities, including the integration of gender-sensitive curricula and the strengthening of gender equality initiatives at both the school and policy levels.]]>
