The limited applied education on renewable energy at the elementary school level remains a significant challenge in fostering early energy literacy in Indonesia. This community service program aimed to improve students’ understanding and awareness of solar energy through an integrated approach combining education and hands-on practice. The activity was conducted at SD Poleng 2, Gesi, Sragen. Using an experiential learning approach, the program included the delivery of renewable energy concepts, demonstration of solar-powered toy car assembly, independent group practice, testing under sunlight, and a speed competition. The results showed that the integrated approach enhanced students’ conceptual understanding, technical skills in assembling components, collaboration abilities, and enthusiasm toward solar energy. Students actively engaged in the learning process by experiencing, reflecting, conceptualizing, and experimenting, which aligns with the experiential learning cycle. Although the observed changes were still at the level of initial awareness and interest, the activity provided an important foundation for developing energy literacy from an early age. This program demonstrates that combining theoretical education with practical activities is effective in introducing renewable energy to elementary school students and can serve as a model for similar initiatives in other schools.
