Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) orchards in West Sumatra, Indonesia, provide resin, nectar, and pollen for stingless bees, yet baseline data on Meliponini diversity in inland orchards remain limited. This study quantified species richness, diversity, and bee-plant resource associations at four orchard sites (188-488 m asl) in Solok, Tanah Datar, Sijunjung, and Sawahlunto, West Sumatra. Monthly surveys throughout 2024 recorded seven stingless bee species (Apidae: Meliponini): Heterotrigona itama, Geniotrigona thoracica, Tetragonula fuscobalteata, Tetragonula laeviceps, Lepidotrigona ventralis, Tetragonula minangkabau, and Homotrigona apicalis. Species richness per site ranged from 3 (Lintau) to 5 (Gauang, Sijunjung, Kayu Gadang). Shannon-Wiener diversity was highest at Gauang (H': 1.61) and lowest at Lintau (H': 1.05). Vegetation surveys recorded 33 plant species in 20 families; 17 provided resin or latex and 23 provided nectar and/or pollen, all assigned by direct forager observation. Exploratory correlations indicated negative associations between air temperature and diversity and positive associations between daily foraging time and diversity; with only four sites, these patterns are descriptive. Retaining diverse resin- and nectar-provisioning vegetation in mangosteen agroforestry is expected to support Meliponini communities; effects on propolis yield and chemistry require dedicated trials.
