Pulmonary tuberculosis is a communicable disease that remains a major public health problem, in which treatment success is strongly influenced by patients’ adherence to medication. Medication adherence is affected by various factors, including the role of health workers and family support. This study aims to examine the relationship between the role of health workers and family support and medication adherence among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in the working area of Telaga Dewa Public Health Center, Bengkulu City. This study employed an analytical research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of all pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the working area of Telaga Dewa Public Health Center, Bengkulu City, with a sample size of 69 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, while data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents perceived the role of health workers as inadequate, amounting to 40 respondents (58.0%), and had low family support, with 38 respondents (55.1%). In addition, most respondents were non-adherent to medication, totaling 37 respondents (53.6%). The bivariate analysis indicated a significant relationship between the role of health workers and medication adherence among pulmonary tuberculosis patients (p-value < 0.05). Likewise, a significant relationship was found between family support and medication adherence among pulmonary tuberculosis patients (p-value < 0.05). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the role of health workers and family support and medication adherence among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. It is expected that both health workers and family members can enhance their roles in supporting treatment adherence among pulmonary tuberculosis patients.
