Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming educational practices, including Islamic Religious Education (IRE/PAI). This study aims to systematically review research on AI integration in IRE, focusing on personalized and adaptive learning, learning effectiveness and interactivity, assessment practices, educator roles, and ethical and humanistic considerations. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach was employed using the PRISMA framework. Relevant studies were identified through searching based on predefined keywords and inclusion and exclusion criteria, followed by screening, quality assessment, data extraction, and thematic synthesis. The findings identify five dimensions of AI integration: personalized and adaptive learning; enhanced learning effectiveness and interactivity; optimization of assessment and administrative processes; transformation of lecturer roles and professional competence; and preservation of ethical and humanistic values. The review indicates that AI can support responsive learning, resources, efficient assessment, and differentiated learning support. However, effective integration requires human supervision, verification of religious content, responsible data use, and educator competence development.
