This study examines the local historiography of the Djamboe Lipo Kingdom through Merekam Jejak Kerajaan Djamboe Lipo: Seri Pertama by Sultan Kurnia and Jambu Lipo: Kerajaan Lama Minangkabau by Hera Hastuti and her team. The study aims to analyze the presentation of the history of the Djamboe Lipo Kingdom and the influence of the spirit of the age and socio-cultural environment on the two works. This study uses the historical method with a literature study approach. The results show that the two works present the history of the Djamboe Lipo Kingdom in different ways. Sultan Kurnia's work focuses more on compiling sources from the royal environment and local community, while Hera Hastuti and her team emphasize an academic research approach. These differences are related to the authors' backgrounds, social environments, and the conditions in which the works were written. The two works also demonstrate the relationship between local historical sources and academic research in the development of the historiography of the Djamboe Lipo Kingdom.
