<![CDATA[This research aims to criticize forms of shirk in the traditions of Indonesian society due to the acculturation of local culture with Islamic teachings, using the thought framework of Ibnu Qoyyim Al-Jauziyah. The main essence discussed in this research is the strengthening of monotheism as a fundamental principle in Islam, as well as how errors in cultural adaptation can give rise to shirk practices that society is not aware of. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods by analyzing various local traditions that contain elements of shirk even though they have adapted to Islamic teachings. The research results show that although this tradition is carried out with the aim of glorifying Allah and maintaining social solidarity, the practice of giving offerings or prayers through intermediaries shows the potential for shirk which obscures the understanding of the purity of monotheism. This research highlights the importance of strengthening monotheism and instilling awareness of the potential for shirk in local religious and cultural practices. It is hoped that this research can contribute to understanding shirk that occurs without realizing it and encourage Muslims to be more careful in carrying out religious practices and preserving traditions in order to maintain the purity of monotheism.]]>
