<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze and understand the role of digital literacy as a form of disaster social capital among the 2025 cohort of Sociology Education students at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Universitas Negeri Makassar, in dealing with disaster risks within the campus environment. The study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to explore students’ meanings, experiences, perceptions, and practices in utilizing digital media related to disaster issues. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that digital literacy contributes significantly to enhancing students’ knowledge, awareness, and preparedness regarding disaster risks. Furthermore, digital literacy functions as social capital by strengthening communication networks, trust, solidarity, and collective action in supporting disaster mitigation and preparedness efforts. However, the study also identified challenges, including the spread of misinformation and the limited ability of some students to verify information critically. Therefore, strengthening digital literacy through critical thinking and information verification skills is essential to fostering a resilient, adaptive, and disaster-ready campus community.]]>
