This study uses a qualitative research method with Alfred Schutz's phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that individual motives for participating in running buddy activities are divided into because motive and in order to motive. Because motive arises from past experiences, interest in running, the need to reduce stress, and the desire to have a positive social environment. In order to motive is related to the goals of maintaining health, improving discipline, expanding social relations, and achieving personal goals. Individual experiences in the community show a sense of togetherness, social support, comfort, and positive experiences that impact mental health and social relationships among members.
