<![CDATA[This research aims to analyze the role of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an international organization in handling the implementation of world Intangible Cultural Heritage. Specifically, this study explains UNESCO's institutional functions and outlines the procedural steps from the initial submission stage to the final decision-making process. This study uses qualitative data analysis methods through library research. Theoretically, the research is examined using the Organizational Level of Analysis, Clive Archer's Theory of International Organizations which positions UNESCO as an instrument, arena, and independent actor as well as Alexander Wendt's Constructivism perspective. The results show that UNESCO is not merely an administrative body, but rather an independent actor that formulates global standards, a diplomatic arena, and an instrument for the recognition of national identity. Through the case study of the Jamu Wellness Culture nomination, the implementation of UNESCO's standards proves relevant in encouraging absolute local community involvement through Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC). The relevance of this recognition not only provides global prestige for Indonesia but is also legally binding to carry out concrete safeguarding measures to protect the cultural ecosystem from the threats of over-commercialization and extinction.
