Abstract

Uric acid is a compound produced by the body as a result of the breakdown of purines, a substance found in various foods and beverages. Palm wine contains 4-5% alcohol. Alcohol can increase serum uric acid levels by decreasing uric acid excretion and increasing uric acid production. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between palm wine consumption and uric acid levels in adults in Saronda Village, West Bajo District, 2025. The research design used was a quasi-experimental study using a comparative classifier design. Using total sampling, a sample of 30 respondents was obtained. The independent variable was palm wine consumption and the dependent variable was uric acid levels in adults. Data collection used observation sheets and questionnaires, using the Mann Whitney statistical test. Based on the results of the study, the uric acid levels of palm wine drinkers showed P-value of 0.000
