Flexible pavement in the airside area of airports, particularly taxiways, is subjected to high and repetitive loads from aircraft wheels, thereby requiring a pavement layer with high load-bearing capacity. This study aims to evaluate the performance and mechanical characteristics of Asphalt Concrete – Binder Course (AC-BC) mixture using PG 70 modified asphalt based on the KP DJPU 74 Year 2026 guideline standard. The research method used is laboratory experimental testing using Marshall testing under three specimen conditioning states: normal stability (75 blows per side compaction), retained stability (water immersion at 60°C for 24 hours), and refusal density (400 blows per side compaction). The parameters analyzed include stability, flow, density, Marshall Quotient (MQ), Void in Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), and Void Filled with Asphalt (VFB). The results show that the AC-BC PG 70 mixture meets all specifications. Under normal stability, the VMA value reaches 15.35%. Under retained stability, a Retained Strength Index (IKS) of 90.80%, VIM of 3.79%, and MQ of 461.9 kg/mm were obtained, proving very high water resistance and durability. Meanwhile, at refusal density, stability jumped to 2,355.5 kg and MQ to 743.0 kg/mm, indicating strong structural resistance to plastic deformation (rutting).
