Air transportation in Indonesia is experiencing rapid growth. According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS), there was an increase of 5.5 million domestic passengers and 1.84 million international passengers during the period from December 2024 to 2025. This surge in passenger volume and the rapid growth of air transport must be supported by robust airport infrastructure, particularly runway pavement that accommodates aircraft take-off and landing operations to guarantee safe and comfortable travel. This study aims to analyze the performance and Marshall parameter characteristics of an Asphalt Concrete – Wearing Course (AC–WC) mixture utilizing PG 76 polymer-modified asphalt binder for airport runway pavement. A laboratory experimental method was employed, with testing procedures conducted in accordance with the Decree of the Director General of Civil Aviation (KP DJPU) No. 74 of 2026. The results of the combined gradation trials indicate that Trial 3 achieved the optimum performance compared to the other trial formulations. The resulting Optimum Asphalt Content (OAC) for the AC–WC mixture was determined to be 5.70%. The material proportions utilized under the OAC condition comprised 328.2 grams of 10–15 mm aggregate fraction, 271.6 grams of 5–10 mm aggregate fraction, 520.5 grams of 0–5 mm aggregate fraction, 11.3 grams of mineral filler, and 68.4 grams of PG 76 asphalt binder.
