This research was to determine the differences composition of chemical compounds the ethanol and acetone extract from cocoa pod husks based on qualitativephytochemical analysis and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis.Cocoa pod husk extraction was carried out by maceration method using 70% ethanol and acetone:water (7:3) as solvents. The yield results obtained showed that the cocoa pod husk extract that extracted by acetone had a higher yield than the ethanol solvent. In the qualitative phytochemical test using color reagents was found that ethanolic extract of cocoa pod husks contained flavonoids and phenols, while the acetone extract contain tannins, flavonoids, and phenols. The GC-MS test of ethanol extract of cocoa pod husks had identified 5 main compounds that classified to fatty acid and lactone compounds, while acetone extracthad also identified 5 main compounds that classified to glycerol, ester, disaccharide, phthalic ester, and ascorbic acid compounds.
