Writing is a productive and expressive language skill. Through writing, individuals can articulate ideas, concepts, feelings, and experiences in an organized and meaningful written form. Writing proficiency does not develop automatically; it requires cultivation through effective instruction. One applicable approach is the Deep Learning approach integrated with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model—a method characterized by active, meaningful, and student-centered learning achieved through project completion. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Deep Learning approach, implemented via the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, on the descriptive text writing skills of Grade IX students at MTs Nurul Islam Kalibunder during the 2026/2027 academic year. The study employed a quantitative method using a posttest-only control group design, wherein the experimental class received instruction utilizing the Deep Learning approach combined with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. Posttest results revealed an average score of 63.41 for the control class, whereas the experimental class achieved an average of 90.17. Furthermore, the t-test indicated statistical significance (p < 0.05), with the calculated t-value exceeding the t-table value (t_calc > t_table), thereby demonstrating that the Deep Learning approach combined with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model significantly improves students' writing skills.
