<![CDATA[This study was motivated by the low level of students' poetry writing skills, particularly in generating ideas, selecting appropriate diction, using figurative language, and transforming personal experiences into meaningful literary works. The study aimed to determine students' poetry writing skills based on field experiences before and after the implementation of the Discovery Learning model, as well as to examine the effect of the model on the poetry writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMK Pertanian At-Taufiq, Bekasi Regency, in the 2025/2026 academic year.This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of all 21 tenth-grade students selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through poetry writing tests, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-samples t-test to determine the effect of the treatment.The results showed that the students' mean pretest score was 56.10, while the mean posttest score increased to 60.43 after the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. The hypothesis testing indicated that the calculated t-value was greater than the critical t-value at the 0.05 significance level, resulting in the rejection of the null hypothesis (H₀) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ). These findings indicate that the Discovery Learning model based on field experiences had a positive and significant effect on improving students' poetry writing skills. The implementation of this model enabled students to generate ideas through direct experiences, enrich their vocabulary, enhance their creativity in selecting diction and figurative language, and produce poetry that was more contextual and meaningful.]]>
