<![CDATA[The people of the Jawai sub-district want to change their economic conditions by migrating as migrant workers because of the narrow employment opportunities in the area of origin, therefore the purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the factors that make migration in Jawai sub-district, Sambas regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with interview data collection techniques and a literature review. According to the neoclassical school, large-scale migration from one region to another has a positive impact on the area of origin because it can encourage economic development, especially for migrant worker families. The analytical tool used in this study is to use the concept of Everet Lee. The result of this study is that there is a very good socioeconomic impact that changes income levels, this is evidenced by the improvement of the family's economy, the driving factors that make them migrate to become migrant workers abroad are difficult job opportunities, low income while the pull factor is wanting to work in the destination country is a high salary and job opportunities in the country of origin that are still wide open, By working as a migrant worker, the family economy is getting better]]>
