Abstract

This paper is aimed to investigate the social role of libraries in the form of community empowerment. Studies that have been dominant in discussing the existence of libraries as providers of collections for the public to read make this research significant because it attempts to put forward the potential for new study perspectives that can touch the heart of public needs in the social realm. This research departs from the layers of the library pyramid in the form of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom. The four layers of the pyramid are used as the existential foundation of libraries in playing their role in society. The library's role has been found in three groups: the role of a public space, an agent of change, and a community developer. The first role is played in the form of increasing the quality of accessibility for discourse development. The second role as an agent of change has paved the way for society to gain equal and broad access, giving birth to an educated society. The accumulation of these roles places libraries in a vital position as community developers. Libraries have encouraged developments in people's lives. Issues of information accessibility, equality, social justice, and social harmony guide libraries through their social functions in society.

Abstract

In Morocco, female entrepreneurship represents a major asset for development in the face of the challenges of unemployment and poverty. The growing number of women entrepreneurs, thanks to better access to education and financing, demonstrates a promising dynamic. They contribute significantly to the national economy by creating jobs, generating income and participating in the development of various economic sectors. The objective of this article is to take stock of female entrepreneurship in Morocco, by exploring the motivations and obstacles encountered by women entrepreneurs in Morocco. To do this, we used several databases and scientific repositories to create a succinct literature review. We therefore explored several recent reports, notably from Bank Al Maghreb and MTPME, in order to bring out recent statistics. The analysis made it possible to draw key conclusions. Women embark on entrepreneurship for many and varied reasons: the desire for financial independence, personal fulfillment, contribution to society, innovation and social responsibility. However, they face many specific challenges, such as lack of funding, difficulties reconciling professional and private life, and gender stereotypes.

Abstract

Environmental degradation is the decline in environmental quality due to development activities characterized by the malfunctioning of environmental components, or it can also be said that environmental degradation is a natural environmental condition that leads to damage to biodiversity and threatens environmental health. Environmental degradation is caused by two main factors, namely nature and humans. Land degradation can manifest as damage to marine ecosystems, critical land, and forest destruction. Land degradation is closely related to land, population density, and poverty. Poverty is a condition of life lacking in meeting basic human needs. Community poverty is considered one of the factors causing environmental damage. This paper aims to see if there is a relationship between environmental degradation and poverty. The method used in preparing this paper is a literature study by reviewing several articles published by previous researchers and extracting the essence of the research. From the literature study, it is concluded that there is a relationship between environmental degradation and poverty, but the cause of environmental degradation is not solely due to poverty, but is mostly caused by human activities in exploiting the environment.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the relevance of justice values in the Qur'an to modern legal systems through the Ma'na Cum Maghza Approach. This approach offers a novel way of interpreting religious texts by considering historical and social contexts as well as contemporary situations. The research employs qualitative methods with text analysis to elucidate the values of justice in the Qur'an, and literature review to identify gaps in previous research. The findings indicate that the values of justice in the Qur'an have significant relevance and can be applied in modern legal systems, although there are challenges in the integration process, such as resistance from conservative groups and differences in historical contexts. The study concludes that a contextual and historical approach can provide a more relevant and applicable understanding of religious texts to create a more just and harmonious legal order, capable of addressing contemporary legal challenges. This research also demonstrates the significant potential of the Ma'na Cum Maghza Approach in addressing various modern legal issues, including family, economic, and human rights aspects.

Abstract

Religious moderation and tolerance are two key concepts in building a harmonious and inclusive society. Moderation refers to a balanced attitude in understanding and implementing religious teachings, while religious tolerance emphasizes the importance of respecting diversity. This study aims to investigate the relationship between moderation and religious tolerance and its impact on social stability and societal sustainability. The research methods used include surveys, interviews, and qualitative data analysis. The research results show that individuals who hold moderate attitudes are more tolerant of other people's religious beliefs and practices. Additionally, societies that encourage religious moderation tend to experience lower levels of conflict and are better able to build harmonious relationships. These findings highlight the importance of promoting religious moderation and tolerance in building stable and inclusive societies. Policy implications include moderation-oriented religious education, open interfaith dialogue, as well as the formation of policies that respect religious freedom and minimize religion-based discrimination. Thus, strengthening religious moderation and tolerance is the key to the success of sustainable social development.

Abstract

Psychology has traditionally focused on improving the well-being of individuals, couples, families, and groups, and psychology tends to be widespread in treating values such as social justice as only general goals rather than theoretical concepts that have four identified empirical content.First we discuss how different concepts of social justice fall into three main intellectual traditions in community psychology: (1) the prevention and health promotion tradition, (2) the empowerment tradition, and most recently,(3) the critical tradition. justice is an absolute requirement in human relations, in the life of society, nation, and state. The great demand for justice that has recently emerged is actually a normative demand. However, the reality is not as expected where many social injustices occur, why can it happen, does justice not exist now? Justice can be seen from various perspectives, from a moral point of view, justice becomes a high value by society. At the operational level, justice is very complex and not easily accepted by the community". "Because communication can be used as a means when there is a social injustice which is a little difficult for the community to do because it prioritizes emotion over logic. What the community should do if it happens is make a report or if they don't want to report because of the long process, the community can communicate with each other without having a conflict that occurs

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the Shafiyyah Community in enhaching altruism through da'wah and social activities in West Sumatra. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results show that religious beliefs play a significant role in motivating members of the Shafiyyah Community to engage in various altruistic activities. The spiritual experiences and religious values upheld by this community have been proven to encourage prosocial behavior among its members. Social activities, including support for orphans, scholarships for the underprivileged, disaster relief, and da'wah activities such as religious studies and Quran education, significantly improve the welfare of community members and have a positive impact on the surrounding society. These findings illustrate that activities based on religious beliefs can create changes in attitudes and behaviors that are more caring and empathetic. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of religion in promoting generosity and altruism and provides recommendations for other communities to adopt similar approaches to enhance their social roles. Thus, this research contributes to the literature on the relationship between religion and prosocial behavior and provides practical guidance for the development of community programs focused on enhancing altruism based on religious beliefs.
