Abstract

The 3T areas are the outermost areas of Indonesia and the majority of people in these areas make the decision to migrate to cities that are considered more advanced, both for work and to study. Thus, to be successful in migrating, students are required to have good adjustments to pursue education and take on the role of students who come from minority areas in the urban areas where they now live. This research aims to determine the relationship between peer social support and adjustment in overseas students from the 3T region of Papua. This research used a saturated sampling technique with the subjects involved in this research being 63 overseas students from the 3T region of Papua who had migrated to SWCU Salatiga. Data collection methods used the Student Social Support Scale (SSSS) to measure peer social support and the Student Adjustment to College Questionnaire (SACQ) adjustment. The data analysis method used is non-parametric Spearman's rho. From the results of the data analysis that has been carried out, a correlation coefficient of 0.439 is obtained with a p value of 0.001 or (p < 0.05). From these results it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between social support from peers and adjustment in overseas students from the 3T region of Papua. Thus, if 3T students' self-adjustment is high, the higher the social support their peers have, and vice versa
