<![CDATA[Mental disorders are health issues that have a far-reaching impact on individuals, families, and communities. The successful recovery of people with mental disorders is greatly influenced by the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of the community in which they live. Stigma and discriminatory treatment that still occur can hinder the process of rehabilitation and social reintegration. This study employs a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The study subjects are residents of Banjar Dajan Rurung, Batubulan Kangin Village, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected via a questionnaire assessing the community’s knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors toward people with mental disorders, and were subsequently analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that the majority of the community possesses adequate to good levels of knowledge regarding mental disorders. Community attitudes generally fall into the “adequate” category and are generally positive, although negative attitudes were still observed among some respondents. Regarding behavior, the majority of the community has demonstrated sufficiently supportive behavior; however, tendencies toward avoidance and stigma persist in social interactions with people with mental disorders. These findings suggest that increased knowledge has not yet been fully reflected in optimal changes in attitudes and behaviour. Therefore, ongoing education and outreach are essential for community nursing practice, education, and services to increase public acceptance and support the recovery and social reintegration of people with mental disorders.]]>
