Abstract

The Gubug Urban Area as a local activity center (PKL) is expected to become a service center for district-scale areas in the western region of Grobogan Regency. With a strategic geographical location because it is adjacent to Semarang City and supported by adequate transportation and other networks, the Gubug Urban Area has developed very rapidly. The existence of transportation hubs such as the Gubug Terminal and Gubug Station has made it easier for the community to support mobility/movement and community activities both regionally and locally. These transportation hubs can be developed into supporting economic activity centers in addition to being public transportation service centers. It is hoped that this development can have a positive impact on progress in the surrounding area. The development of the Gubug Terminal will be directed at transit-oriented development (Transit Oriented Development - TOD) which will combine interactions between transit, commercial and housing activities. The feasibility of the development will be assessed based on its support for macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions. In terms of macroeconomics, the development of the Gubug Terminal will be able to encourage an increase in GRDP, contribute to sectoral growth, and suppress the rate of inflation. From a microeconomic perspective, the development of the terminal as a center of economic activity is considered feasible based on several financial indicators.
